My Mum, who we sadly lost on valentine's day, had a funeral plan through Dignity and we chose Barclay's South Queensferry from their list of Funeral Directors on the basis that it was the closest to us. Our first meeting with Emma Tait had us 100% assured we'd chosen the right people to look after Mum. We left that day comforted by Emma's manner, professionalism and obvious knowledge of and passion for the job she and her colleagues do and her appreciation of and respect for the role they play in the lives of the bereaved and for those who've passed. From the very beginning Emma has made us feel that nothing is too much trouble and I know many cynics reading this would respond to me with a quip about money or the cost of these services, but I'm talking about the extra mile that money doesn't buy and that not everyone will give; that comes from genuinely caring about doing your best for those you're helping. To someone like Emma, the job isn't just a job and the bereaved aren't just clients who are paying for a service and those who have passed are still people deserving of their consideration and respect. I'm so glad we went with Barclays South Queensferry. We couldn't have found better anywhere. We can't thank Emma enough. We felt assured of the great care Mum was in as she was prepared for her final journey by how Emma spoke about her. On the day of Mum's funeral Emma worked her day off to be at the office for us. She'd ring me on a Friday just to check in before finishing for the weekend. Scott had our journey from the branch to the Crematorium timed to perfection. They wore purple ties as it was her favourite colour. And as they left us, Scott presented me with two copies, one framed, of the photo I'd sent Emma for the service. We were so touched by their kindness and thoughtfulness. We happily accepted Emma's recommendation of Celebrant for the service: the lovely Margaret Kenny who visited us at home. We liked Margaret instantly, as we did Emma. We had a lovely conversation and she transformed our words and sentiments into a eulogy that was just perfect as was the way she conducted the service. Margaret presented both Dad and I with a commemorative candle she'd made herself and she also lit one during the service. At every step along the way we were shown compassion and caring. We could not recommend them highly enough. When you're going through you're hardest of times and wondering where on earth to start, it's like they just put their hands out and say "we've got you". And they do....... Thanks to Emma, Scott and his team who were involved in Mum's funeral and Margaret. Forever grateful, with love, Eddie, Annelouise, Willie and family xx

Marion was brilliant with us from our first meeting. We felt she went above and beyond our expectations throughout. The staff on the day of my Mum's funeral were so dignified in how they interacted with our family. Thank you for making such an awful time in my life so much easier than I expected.

From our first contact with Emma at South Queensferry, we felt at ease and in good care from a professional team that helped us through the difficult loss we were experiencing. Nothing was too much trouble, made good suggestions and listened to what we wanted.

On the day the Team were supportive and Professional. I have no hesitation in recommending them, they are "simply the best".
