Frederick Pymm and George Hooper

Frederick George Pymm was born in the village of Taplow in 1869. At the age of 28, a Census record shows him working as a builder at High Road, Maidenhead, with 24 year old George Hooper working as a shopkeeper, builder and undertaker at 24 Broadway, Maidenhead in 1897.

In 1952, Pymm was working as a builder, contractor, undertaker, painter and house decorator, operating from High Town Road. Hooper was a carpenter and undertaker trading from King Street.

Funeral Directors in Maidenhead and Windsor

In the early 1970s, Pymm & Hooper was founded, when the two firms merged and began serving families from 65 Moorbridge Road in Maidenhead.

Today we serve families in our Maidenhead community from Moorbridge Road, as well as families in Windsor from our branch on Saint Leonards Street. This funeral home has its beautiful original window frames like many of the shops on this charming high street.
