Reviews for Arthur Denyer Funeral Directors in Brighton
I was expecting to be dealing with someone similar in age to myself - I'm 61. Lauren is a young lady half my age but seemingly with gravitas and wisdom beyond her years. My younger brother and I were anxious to avoid a negative and depressing funeral day. Lauren gently suggested possible options which neither of us would have considered without her knowledge. She acted as a sounding board for our ideas and a perfect foil for helping to turn things in the right direction.
Without her we would certainly have had a church service followed by the cremation but for Phil and I that seemed too downbeat. Instead we had the cremation followed by a church thanksgiving service followed by teas and coffees and a chance to chat to old church friends that knew mum best. This turned out to be a very positive and uplifting experience.
I don't yet have a funeral plan in place but I will certainly be using Arthur Denyer's and Dignity as I am so confident that they will handle my 'send off' with the same expertise that they did with my mother.
Thanks again Lauren. I cannot speak too highly of my experiences with you.
All in all, if it hadn't been such a sad occasion, it was a lovely day, and I know my mum would've loved it. Thank you Arthur Denyers! :)
Martin was very courteous and understanding and was a pleasure to deal with.
The whole day went smoothly, without any hitches and was commented on by family and relatives.
I would recommend this service.
However we as a family did put ourselves in a position unable to shop around or negotiate price because the deceased had already been moved to the funeral parlour before we started. We remain unconvinced that close to £6000 is a reasonable cost for a modest burial with no cars behind the hearse, etc, and look forward to findings of consumer authorities' current investigations into the trade.
THE SERVICE ON THE DAY WAS EXCELLENT. MY BROTHER AND I WERE PALL BEARERS AND WE WERE KINDLY ASSISTED THROUGHOUT.
