  • When someone dies, the first steps will depend on how and where the person passed away. Our step-by-step guides will walk you through the practical steps. For additional support and personal advice, please get in touch with us.


  • You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.


  • Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.


  • If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.


  • Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.

John Stuarts were recommended to us by several people for my husbands funeral and we were so pleased we went with their recommendations.

From our first meeting to discuss arrangements, through to the actual day, we were treated with care and compassion and nothing was too much trouble. At a time when we were understandably 'floundering' and in a state of turmoil, we were guided through every step and made to feel at ease, knowing we were in safe hands. The service was perfect and ran like clockwork.

Thanks to everyone involved but especially to Adam, who was with us from start to finish and couldn't have been more helpful.

Couldn't fault the service provided by Nicola and Ros and Terry and the pall bearers, very friendly, they took the time in explaining everything that we needed to do, to make decisions on such as which package to have, what it would allow us to do time wise in saying goodbye to my nan.
In fact the service they provided 14 years ago is why we returned to them for this funeral, they are a fantastic local business.

We were very pleased with the entire service provided for us for my mother. All the staff we met were very helpful throughout what was a naturally difficult time. Our family and friends thought that the funeral service for Jennifer was very well organised and the arrangements for transport, music, the order of service, flowers, the eulogy and the following wake refreshments went very smoothly and helped the family cope with what was a very moving occasion. Our meetings with yourselves and your celebrant were very helpful in helping us plan for the service, and we all felt that he conducted it in a very professional manner.

I and her immediate family all feel that it was a lovely service and and wake, and we have received a lot of feedback from other family and friends on how they all felt that it was a very fitting tribute to her and her life, and we are very grateful for your support at a very difficult time.

John Stuart staff were professional, compassionate and their warm personal approach made things so much easier to deal with at such a traumatic time. From bringing my husband home from hospital, caring for him, sitting with us and going through all the arrangements, to the Funeral Service we felt cared for. We appreciated the phone calls on the day and the following morning, making sure everything was as we wanted.
