Our Chapel Service funeral provides your loved one with a fitting send off at one of our specialist service chapels, followed by an unattended cremation at our chosen crematorium.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.

Annick and the team at TJ Thomas and Sons were wonderful from start to finish. They made organising my dad’s funeral as stress-free as possible, guiding us with regular calls and emails, and always being available to answer questions, even out of hours.
When he passed, they arrived smartly dressed, treated the whole process with dignity and gave us all the time we needed before they took him. They kept us informed at every stage and dropped off a helpful info pack the next day, giving us time to review options over the weekend without pressure. Throughout the following weeks, they stayed in touch and supported us through each decision.
The funeral day itself ran smoothly, with thoughtful touches like tea and coffee at their office beforehand, tissues and water provided in the car, and even holding umbrellas for us due to the weather, every detail showed their care and attention. Their peaceful, beautiful office also made a difficult time feel calmer.
We’re so grateful for their kindness and professionalism, thank you again to the whole team
I cannot thank all of your team, from the way they looked after my wife, from that dreadful night for me, right through to the way they looked after Sharon at the funeral home, they showed me and my sister the utmost dignity, 100% genuine care and looked after me at every opportunity, never rushed, gave me time to try and compose myself, I have nothing but total respect for all of them, all the way to the burial of my wife. They have kept in touch with me, looking out for me, which I cannot thank them all enough.
Would like to say thank you very much very kind nothing was too much kept in touch right the way through only a phone call away so understanding
drivers on the day went above and beyond. thanks..
They got my father's name wrong!!
They didn't post community notices until day or so before service!! therefore several people old friends who would have attended couldn't!!
My father's ashes were brought back in cardboard tube not the casket agreed.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry that you were unhappy with the service that you received and would be grateful if you could contact our Complaint Resolutions Department, to discuss your concerns further on 0800 783 7171 between the hours of 09:00 & 17:00.
Brilliant very kind and caring Funeral directors would highly recommend to you at any time. My Dad passed away in June and they were so supportive and compassionate that they did everything they could for every need and request for you or your loved one. A big thank you especially to Funeral Director Chris who helped me and my family through the most sudden, traumatic heartbreaking and toughest times of our lives. He also went the extra mile for any requests and questions and provided my Dad with a wonderful Funeral.
