What families say about us

The paramedic attending my sister when she passed away recommended Oliver and James, as I do not live in Oxford and did not know any local funeral directors. My sister’s son and daughter and myself were all really pleased with the help and care we received. Maeve was very supportive, kind and patient, and with great attention to detail. The funeral itself went off calmly and smoothly at Oxford Crematorium memorial chapel, with the help of ‘Wolfie’ and the other bearers. The Rev Martin Little from Holy Trinity Headington Quarry was empathetic and welcoming, and conducted the service beautifully with an excellent address. Thank you to all involved.

We received excellent care and attention from the start to finish at this difficult time. Options were clearly explained and all arrangements were communicated in detail, and with compassion. Everything went very smoothly on the day and live streaming made the service accessible to friends and family from afar. Many thanks to Simon, Maeve and the team.

At the most difficult time of our lives, the kindness and care shown by the team at Oliver and James was beyond measure. Chanelle, in particular, was outstanding in her care for my entire family. She guided us gently through every option, ensuring that my husband’s funeral was dignified and respectful, and most importantly, that the experience did not become any harder than it already was.

From the moment my husband entered their care, we felt reassured. He was looked after with dignity, and we were kept updated throughout. Chanelle and the team showed compassion, patience, and professionalism at every step, and their respect and diligence towards me, my children, and our wider family will never be forgotten.

I will be forever grateful for the way they supported us, and I cannot thank them enough for the comfort they provided during such a painful time.
