When my father passed, we decided to use PJHarris and I'm so glad we did. Paula and her team were incredible. Paula was so kind, caring and compassionate. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always available to answer any questions I had or to reassure me. She made what was such a hard time bareable and I couldn't have got through it without her. Will definitely be using PJ Harris again.

I genuinely could not recommend P J Harris enough. don’t think I could have got through such a difficult time without Paula and the team at P J Harris.

Last year I lost my dad, and when I first phoned I spoke to Paula. I explained that I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or how to go about changing funeral directors. From that very first conversation, Paula was incredibly reassuring, informative and supportive. She explained everything to me throughout the entire process and helped us navigate what was, at times, quite a complex family dynamic with nothing but patience, compassion and understanding.

The empathy and kindness we received were second to none. Paula gave so generously of her time, whether that was listening, answering questions, offering advice or simply being there when I needed reassurance. She instantly made me feel safe, supported and looked after at one of the hardest times of my life.

My dad was treated with such dignity and care from the moment he came into their care. We were kept informed at every stage — from his transportation and the arrival of his coffin, to when we could see him, what to expect on the day of the funeral and, eventually, collecting his ashes. Nothing ever felt rushed and we were given plenty of time with Dad when he arrived at the starting point of his final journey.

The funeral itself was absolutely beautiful. Every member of staff was wonderful and made sure everything ran smoothly. They went above and beyond to ensure as many of Dad’s flower arrangements as possible could go with him. They had even gone out of their way to get blue ribbons from a local florist for the funeral cars, and the staff wore blue ties to match. It might sound like a small detail to some, but to our family it meant so much. It showed genuine thought and respect for my dad, his life and his passing.

There are some things you never forget about losing someone you love, and I will never forget the kindness we were shown by P J Harris. We will always be incredibly grateful to the whole team, but particularly to Paula. Her ability to simply be there, listen, support and guide me through something I had never experienced before meant more than I can put into words.

Thank you for looking after my dad, and for looking after us too. ❤️
