It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mark Richard Evans.
Mark was born in Lytham St Anne’s, England to Ronald Arthur Evans of Wolverhampton and Joan Mary Davis of Upton upon Severn. Mark has an older brother, David Arthur Evans, also born in Lytham St Anne’s, now residing in the US.
The family moved to the US when Mark was 2. They settled in Smyrna, Georgia, where his dad joined Lockheed as an engineer working on C5A aircraft flight systems.
Growing up in Smyrna, Mark’s interest in art and drawing at a young age developed into writing and illustrating his own comic books. The two American sports he took interest in were American football and baseball. He played football with a local organization in his early teens, and then moved to an interest in baseball strategy games. He was always a fan of the Oakland Raiders, in fact after moving to the UK he traveled to London for a Raiders exhibition game.
He later followed his brother into the dirt bike craze that captured the US in the 70s, owning various dirt bikes during this time. He also became interested in cars, and especially drag racing. In his early 20s he and his dad purchased a 1968 Camaro, and modified the car for drag racing.
In the late 80s Mark moved back to the UK, and into the house in Upton upon Severn, where his mom was born. He worked as a glazier installing commercial windows, and helped his parents to update the house when they returned to England after retiring.
After the passing of his dad Mark helped his mom when he could. May Mark be at peace now and be with his mom.
