It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William 'Bill' Perkiss who sadly passed away on 5th January 2023, at the age of 75.
After a period of poor health, Bill passed away at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, with his son and daughter-in-law by his side.
Bill proudly served his country in the Royal Navy as a Communications Yeoman and post-service saw out the rest of his working life as a Doorkeeper in the Houses of Parliament. Bill had very fond memories and many stories to tell of his time serving both roles. Bill retired to Portsmouth where he spent many happy years living at Holmbush Court, spending time with friends and family, reading his way through his extensive library of crime novels, and shouting at the television when Grimsby Town FC weren't performing very well!
The funeral service details are shared below and there will also be a gathering at The Baffins (127 Tangier Road, Portsmouth, PO3 6PD) from 1130 onwards to share memories and to celebrate Bill's life. All are welcome to attend.
