Sadly we announce the death of Jonathan Stokes on 9th August 2024 aged 88 years.
Jon or Dad to us was a listener more than a talker. But when he did speak they were often words of wisdom. He had a way about him which is hard to describe. Full of humour and empathy, who would go out of his way to help others.
He was a gentle soul, very much in tune with the world around him and nature. Who took time to just stop and wonder, especially when out in the garden or walking in the country.
Passionate about gardening and books, he would often come in tired but radiating the simple life. Then sat down with his wife Dawn to contemplate tomorrow while taking in the pleasure of amazing home cooked delights, which was Mum's passion.
With his knowledge and skill Dad could have lead a thousand life's, but unfortunatly we only get one. He lived wisely and did lots of wonderful travels with Dawn and I think had a very full life.
He will be deeply missed.... that cheeky smile and even more, that twinkle in his eye. He didn't have to say much, the expression in his face said a thousand words.
