Gerry was a kind man who had simple interests in his life - darts with his friends, fishing, horse racing - and was always able to make conversation in the most odd places. Even in the face of his health issues he coped well and made light of it with the nurses who attended to him.
He had a great sense of humour which came out with his funny quips and jokes - even when his memory wasn't as great as it used to be, he'd go and read a joke then come back and tell it before he forgot.
Gerry will be missed by friends and family for his smiles and quirks that made him who he was to us.
As Gerry always liked flowers in the garden, it would be preferred to not have flowers but for friends and family to consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Society as a way of showing him a final farewell.
A lovely gentleman who will be sadly missed.
