Dignity

Dr Peter John Donnelly

23rd September 1942 - 15th June 2021
No flowers please
Peter was the much-loved husband of Ailsa, proud father of Adrian, Christopher and Fiona, and a devoted grandpa to Alex, Lochlan and Amelia. His family were extremely important to him and they were always the centre and focal point of his life. Peter displayed dedication in everything he did; he enjoyed helping others and regularly gave his time to do so. His passions were wide ranging and included hill walking, rowing, and improving diabetes and cancer services. Despite developing advanced lung cancer in Nov 2017, he continued to participate actively in his many fields of interest right up to his final days and his enthusiasm for spending time with his grandchildren and participating in family activities never wavered. Following a rapid deterioration, Peter died peacefully in Wythenshawe Hospital, surrounded by his family, on 15 June 2021. The funeral will be held on Friday 2nd July at 12:00, at St Joseph's Church, Hope Road, Sale, M33 3BF followed by cremation. Due to Coronavirus restrictions both cremation and after event will be family only. We welcome any friends and colleagues who wish to attend the funeral service. We don't anticipate any capacity issues at the church, but if you wish to attend please inform us of the names and numbers in advance by emailing: thedonnellyf@gmail.com or by text/phone to 0773 631 5454.
