It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Mayhew announces his passing, after fighting with Chronic Kidney Disease, on 19th June 2024, age 72.
Pete passed away peacefully at Princess Royal hospital whilst listening to an audio book of Terry Pratchett with his wife Wendy by his side, just as they did most nights at home.
Pete will be missed dearly by Wendy and by his daughter, grandchildren and all his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his love of telling stories of his time working for British Rail and for his quick wit humour which he could bring to any occasion.
The funeral will be held at Telford Crematorium at 3.30am on Wednesday 10th July. All are welcome to attend. Guests are also invited to wear a Man United or England football shirt. Please make any charitable donations to the Prostate Cancer charity, Pete's charity of choice.
