It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Hodgson, loving husband of Heather, father to Amanda and Richard and grandfather to Jack.

Bob passed away peacefully on 30th July after a short illness and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Bob had a long career in transport advertising and was a great enthusiast and advocate of public transport for most of his life. He also took a major interest in politics and was proud to represent the people of Hertford as Town Councillor and Mayor. Bob was enthusiastic about local history and was a patron of Hertford Museum.

As Bob was a long time supporter of the hospice care service provided by Marie Curie, we know that he would want donations to be made to this charity. We would be very grateful if you could consider donating to this cause via the link on this page instead of floral tributes.

Purple was Bob’s favourite colour so it would be wonderful if anybody attending his funeral service could wear an item in that colour in celebration of his long and amazing life.

There will be a small celebration of Bob’s life for family and close friends at a nearby venue shortly after the service. Further details of this are available from Bob’s close family.
