What does a Dignity funeral director do?

Here at A Seaward & Son Funeral Directors, people often ask what a funeral director does. So, what does a typical day look like for us?
Support the family...
While every day is different at A Seaward & Son Funeral Directors, one thing that remains the same is there will be a funeral director on call outside of normal opening hours. If a loved one passes away first thing in the morning or last thing at night, one of us will be available to collect the deceased and begin supporting the family through what will be a difficult time.

Although care for the departed is a critical feature of the role, those left behind are equally important. Our funeral directors have a duty of care, which involves supporting the family through their loss. At this time, family members will have choices to make regarding the funeral, and a funeral director can offer support by giving them the confidence they need to make those decisions.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
In order to create a personal funeral service that commemorates the deceased, Dignity funeral directors take the time to understand who they were and what they meant to those closest to them. This is all part of the service A Seaward & Son provides to the Tottenham community it is proud to have served since the 1980s.

And it doesn't end there. As part of the support our funeral directors offer to every family dealing with the loss of a loved one, they also help with the administrative side of bereavement. This includes guidance on what paperwork is required when a loved one passes, as well as advice on completing forms correctly and in a timely manner.

One of the biggest day-to-day responsibilities a funeral director has is providing attentive, quality care as part of the 'care of the deceased' process. A team of arrangers, embalmers and operatives perform their duties to the highest standards and in accordance with the family's wishes, from the moment of collection to the final goodbye.

A Seaward & Son Funeral Directors is thankful to the Tottenham community for allowing us to support grieving families at a difficult time. That is why it is important for us to express our gratitude.

From working in local care homes to advising public bodies on how to care for the deceased and bereaved, our Dignity funeral directors are always ready to give a little something back.
