What does a Dignity funeral director do?

At J. W. Bell Funeral Directors, we are often asked questions about what a funeral director does, or what a typical day for a funeral director looks like. Read more about what’s involved below.
We support the family...
Someone is on hand to offer support 24 hours a day. At least one funeral director at our Moreton funeral home remains on call outside of normal opening hours, meaning when somebody passes away, we are there to help. Whether it's four o'clock in the afternoon or four o'clock in the morning, there will be someone available to begin the process of laying a loved one to rest.

Although care for the person who has passed is an important part of the role, equally important to us is those who are left behind. Our funeral directors have a duty of care to reassure the family and help ease their grief. Those experiencing loss will have choices to make regarding the funeral and a funeral director will aim to give them the confidence they need to reach those decisions.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
In order to decide how the funeral service of a loved one might reflect what they would have wanted, our funeral directors will take the time to understand who they were and what they meant to the family. This is all part of the service J. W. Bell Funeral Directors has provided for the community in Moreton for nearly 100 years.

There is often a lot of administration when it comes to bereavement and our funeral directors can help ease this burden by offering guidance on paperwork, along with advice on how to complete it in a correct and timely manner.

At J. W. Bell Funeral Directors, we offer the same compassion and professionalism to every person as part of our 'care of the deceased' process.

To make sure a loved one is looked after in accordance with the family's wishes, our teams, which also include funeral arrangers, embalmers and operatives, perform their duties to the highest standards, from the moment of collection through to the funeral service and final goodbye.

J. W. Bell Funeral Directors is thankful to the community here in Moreton for allowing us to support them throughout the difficult process of saying goodbye to their loved ones. Although less recognised, one of our duties is also expressing our gratitude.

Whether it's working with local care homes in Moreton, training the clergy in funeral procedure, or advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means our funeral directors are always ready to assist and put a little something back.
